I don’t relate to this female perspective AT ALL. Nor am I obsessed or even drawn to watch crime shows. In fact, I refuse to watch them because they make me feel sick inside. I’m not going to say that what you feel is false or illegitimate because I’m aware that people HAVE different ways of looking at the world, but in my opinion this is not just taking a dip, but way in the deep end of self-righteous. Now we’re pitting gay men and gay women against each other? Have we seriously run out of things to complain about? I could see making fun of Andy Cohen for this, but lobbying for equal rights because of it? Nah. As a woman I don’t mind being seen for my sexuality, I’m sexy and I also like sex. As a survivor of abuse, I’m happy to have come to terms with being a female and comfortable with my sexuality. I don’t feel relentlessly objectified by men, but I do often witness how men have to hide their sexuality and I feel a complete double standard there. Glad a man feels like he can talk to a woman about sex in a fun, casual conversation instead of feeling like every woman is some holy grail of sacred-ity that should never be breached or the lioness will come out and tear him to shreds. That’s all.
